Ask Gamera LLM

Last updated: July 31, 2026

Ask Gamera is the natural-language query tool built into your Gamera dashboard. Instead of building a custom report or waiting on your Gamera contact, you can ask a plain-English question about your inventory, performance, or audience data and get an answer pulled straight from your account's live data — no SQL, no dashboard-hunting. It's also built on top of Gamera's per-user LTV scoring, which most competing tools don't have — so it can answer questions about audience value, not just traffic and viewability.

Overview

Ask Gamera sits on top of the same data that powers your Inventory Quality, Signals, and Analytics dashboards. It's built for quick, exploratory questions — the kind you'd otherwise ask your Gamera contact directly or try to answer by cross-referencing a few different screens.

Each query costs a fraction of a cent, so there's no need to ration your questions — use it as often as it's useful.

What It Can Do

  • Explain what's happening in a placement or on a page — viewability issues, refresh behavior, ad density — in plain language

  • Summarize performance trends across sites, devices, or time periods

  • Surface which content, verticals, or placements are performing best on engagement

  • Translate technical inventory-quality data into language you can hand to a non-technical stakeholder

Diagnosing Placement Issues

Ask Gamera can describe, in plain language, where and why a placement is underperforming — useful for triaging without digging through raw viewability tables yourself.

Ask Gamera This

To Find Out

Why is viewability low on my mobile homepage placements?

The likely cause — lazy-loading delays, below-the-fold position, or low scroll depth — tied to the specific placement, not just a raw score.

Which placements have the worst refresh performance this week?

A ranked list of underperforming placements, described by page location rather than internal slot IDs.

Describe where this ad unit sits on the page

A location description — e.g. "towards the top of the page, second viewport" — generated directly from crawl data, handy for confirming placements match what you expect.

Performance & Content Trends

Ask Gamera can summarize which content, verticals, or sections are driving the best engagement or revenue — useful when content and ad ops are making a prioritization call together.

To Find Out

Which content verticals had the best engagement last month?

A ranked summary by vertical, based on your site analytics and engagement data.

How did CTR trend on mobile web over the last 30 days?

A trend summary with the direction and rough magnitude of change.

Which of my sites saw the biggest viewability improvement this quarter?

A cross-site comparison — useful groundwork for a QBR or stakeholder update.

Translating Data for Stakeholders

Several teams use Ask Gamera to turn dashboard data into language they can hand directly to sales, editorial, or leadership — without a Gamera contact in the loop.

To Find Out

Summarize our inventory quality in two sentences for a leadership update

A short, plain-language summary suitable for pasting straight into a deck or email.

What would you tell a buyer about the quality of our above-the-fold inventory?

A framed answer suitable for a direct sales conversation.

LTV & User Insights

Beyond diagnosing placements and summarizing trends, Ask Gamera is built on top of a per-user lifetime value (LTV) score that Gamera calculates across all of your sites — not just a single domain. Most tools in this space stop at traffic and viewability; Ask Gamera can tell you which of your readers are actually worth the most, and where they are.

Your LTV scores feed two things directly:

  • Content strategy — understanding which content is associated with your highest-value readers, not just your highest-traffic pages

  • Audience routing — directing traffic and ad decisioning based on a reader's underlying value, rather than treating all impressions the same

LTV scoring is calculated from revenue data, so it becomes available only once your Google Ad Manager account is connected to Gamera. It's the only value-based dataset behind Ask Gamera, so any question framed around value — for example, which content your most valuable readers engage with — depends on that connection. Without it, Ask Gamera can still speak to engagement and behavior, but not to which users are worth the most. The section below covers what's available in the meantime.

Ask Gamera This

To Find Out

Which content is driving our highest-LTV readers?

A view into the content or sections associated with your highest-value users — useful for prioritizing editorial or content investment beyond raw pageviews.

How does LTV differ between our sites?

A cross-site comparison of user value — useful if you run multiple properties and want to know where your most valuable audience actually lives.

User insights without GAM connected

Even without GAM connected, Ask Gamera has access to first-party cookie data and can surface meaningful user-level insights — how visitors return, and where they come from — just not the revenue side of the picture yet.

Ask Gamera This

To Find Out

What does our user retention look like?

A week-by-week retention curve built from first-party cookie data — for example, what share of users return after 1 week versus 2 or 4 weeks, and whether retention stabilizes or keeps declining.

Which traffic sources drive returning visitors?

A comparison of retention rates by acquisition source — e.g. Facebook, organic, or Google — showing which channels bring back repeat visitors rather than one-time traffic.

Best Practices

Be specific about scope

Name the site, device, time period, or placement type you care about. "Why is viewability low on mobile homepage placements this week" gets a sharper answer than "why is viewability low."

Ask follow-up questions

Treat it like a conversation. If the first answer is close but not quite right, narrow it — "just mobile web, not app," or "over the last 7 days instead."

Use it for decision support, not a black box

Ask Gamera works best confirming a hypothesis, triaging an issue, or framing a conversation — not as an automated decision-maker. Pair its answers with your own context.

Bring concrete questions from your own data

The most useful sessions start from a real question your team already has, rather than open-ended exploration.

Pair it with custom dimensions

Ask Gamera gets sharper the more context you give it. Passing in custom dimensions — author, layout, ad experience, and similar attributes — gives it more to work with, and it can analyze across all of them together, not just one at a time.

See details on configuring custom dimensions here: 📄 Technical Documentation

If you find yourself asking the same type of question every week, mention it — it may be worth turning into a saved report, a dashboard view, or a custom dimension that makes future queries sharper. And if you'd like a walkthrough using your own account data, just reach out to set up a session.
